Women of Google+ : Jo Graham
As we come across amazing women in Google+, we wanted to highlight some of them and give you the opportunity to find out how fabulous they are for yourself.
Featured G+’er : Jo Graham
How did you originally get invited to Google+?
A fellow genealogist invited me, atlhough I was a bit slow on the uptake so I’m only just getting to grips with G+ in the last few days!
What benefits are you seeing from being in Google+?
I’m really enjoying seeing the familiar genealogists and genealogy bloggers in my Circles, and being added to theirs. It’s also another way to meet new people with the same interests, and expand my contacts with other genealogists worldwide.
How does Google+ fit into your life or career?
I think it will become my “facebook” for genealogy. I work full time as a professional genealogist in Scotland and I also blog about family history. Most of my week days are taken up by client research work, and I run short “hands on” courses which are fun as we can explore the records together. I love to help others who have Scottish family connections and need guidance or advice about particular records.
Where can I find more information about this fabulous woman?
I own and run Our Scots Genealogy Research (www.scottishgenealogist.co.uk) which is based near Edinburgh, where the Scottish records are held. There is a wealth of information which is not accessible online. I have two blogs – Scottish Genealogist (www.scottishgenealogist.com/blog) where I post about interesting findings or what’s going on in my professional life, and Images Past (imagespast.wordpress.com) which centres on my collection of old family photos.
