How did you originally get invited to Google+?

I heard about the launch of Google+ almost immediately, and received an invitation from someone the same day. I can’t remember from who, though – it all happened so fast!

What benefits are you seeing from being in Google+?

Google+ is very transparent – every user is accessible without needing to be “added” or requested as a “friend”. Engagement is extremely high as a result, cultivating great discussions. Content can easily be shared, which helps extend these conversations and drive traffic back to the original source.}

How does Google+ fit into your life or career?

I blog for LockerGnome, covering social media trends and breaking news. I love seeing the evolution of new media and how it impacts our lives, so the adoption of G+ as a new platform is fascinating. On a personal level, it provides a better way of communicating with all the people in my life, be it readers of LockerGnome or just friends.

A particularly interesting story or thoughts you may want to add regarding Google+

I’m doing an experiment right now to test the potential limits of how we use Google+ as a society. We’ve talked about how it could “kill” Twitter or Facebook , but could Google+ compete with Match.com or eHarmony, too?
