Where can I find more information about this fabulous woman?

I am a senior level corporate executive and commercial real estate and business transactions attorney. See my LinkedIn for more information. I started my legal career in large law firms conducted sophisticated acquisition, lease, financing, development transactions. I moved client-side to take control of the real estate portfolio of a Russell 2000 financial services company in 2004. Over time, my position was dramatically expanded so that my accountabilities included Real Estate Strategy, Portfolio/ Facilities Management, Real Estate Law, Insurance/Claims Administration, Records/Data Management, Vendor Management and Security. That firm is now liquidated, a casualty of the 2008 financial crisis. My part of the wind-down was completed in January 2011 and since then I have been consulting on real estate matters and acting as Counsel to a few start-ups. It is not my intention, however, to maintain a private practice. I am merely keeping skills sharp while I search for a new organization to which to contribute my special combination of corporate and legal skills - and my energy and loyalty.

How did you originally get invited to Google+?

I’d wanted an invite to G+ desperately since the first leaks of the project hit the internet community ages ago! When G+ went live, I tweeted and facebooked about how much I wanted in- two of my friends who were already on it (both men) tried to invite me for three days while Google momentarily opened the invite process. On the third day, it worked!

What benefits are you seeing from being in Google+?

The most meaningful benefit for me is the real ability to participate in discussions based on interest rather than prior relationship with the speaker.

Most other social networks I’m involved in are pretty insular. Since I effectively have to choose between total openness and total privacy–and as a professional I need to keep my online presence closely under watch–I end up social-networking with friends and colleagues I already know. But on G+, I choose my sharing settings for every single posting. That allows me to feel comfortable reaching out with some thoughts and questions while remaining private with others. And it seems that my friends are more willing to stage introductions, as well. I’ve been cross-shared to individuals who my own friends know several times, because my friends have decided that new person could answer my question. }

How does Google+ fit into your life or career?

I am a new attorney and a longtime technophile. I’m online virtually all day, whether for research, communication, scheduling, or entertainment. G+ is now my homepage, because I can touch base with friends and colleagues and get to all the other Google products easily from there. I am hoping to expand my law practice into the technology fields over time, and I expect that networking over G+ (and other sites) will help me engage with the tech community meaningfully.

A particularly interesting story or thoughts you may want to add regarding Google+

I’m a self-proclaimed Google zombie, and I fear any more that I say about G+ will sound more ad than editorial! I do believe it has some major potential for improvement, though, and I would like to emphasize that feedback and participation are the ways we get there! I sent seven feedback reports in one day last week, and publicly posted how I hoped that didn’t seem too “bitchy” on G+. Seconds later, a friend of mine shared a post from a friend of his (a Google employee) that expressed gratitude for all the feedback responses and asked them to keep coming. I think that’s an impressive and engaging attitude, and a great example of what G+ can do.

How did you originally get invited to Google+?

A friend sent me an invite, by sharing message saying “this is your invite.” It took about 4 days from receiving that message to actually get in.

What benefits are you seeing from being in Google+?

It is easier to control privacy compared to, say facebook, I’m still getting the hang of it, so I’m not sure that I’m seeing a benefit from it yet.

How does Google+ fit into your life or career?

It will enable me to share things with specifically targeted people or groups of people on things relevant to them. It will allow me to keep in touch with people and know what is going on with them.

How did you originally get invited to Google+?

My fellow geeks over at http://evolt.org were there before me and were kind enough to allow me to tag along.

What benefits are you seeing from being in Google+?

I actually see endless possibilities for me joining G+. I finally think I’ve found the FB/Twitter/LinkedIn merger I’ve wished for in a while. It’s going to make my life simpler (although, it’ll probably be a lot more complicated while I wait for everyone else to snap over here, juggling all the different venues)

How does Google+ fit into your life or career?

G+ will assist me to better control my digital profile as well as reduce the signal-to-noise ratio in my friends’ news feeds as it will able me to better direct my multiply split personality where it belongs at that time :)
