How did you originally get invited to Google+?

From a German internet geek who is working for a classical orchestra, one week after the start the invitation got accepted, so I guess I was really one of the first active classical musicians here..

What benefits are you seeing from being in Google+?

It is really communication and I love the precision of posting and reading with the circles.

How does Google+ fit into your life or career?

Perfect, for me a blog is not the perfect place because my “main” content is music played live, so I am in the net for communication and I like the level of intelligence that is here on Google+

A particularly interesting story or thoughts you may want to add regarding Google+

until now Facebook is my bar just around the corner, Twitter is my newspaper and Google+ the Thinktank! Let us see what place it will find for a classical musician ( thinking about the hangouts etc.)

How did you originally get invited to Google+?

A friend who I invited to Gmail years ago extended me an invite about 2 weeks into the closed Beta – along with the same note I sent him when I invited him to Gmail, “Leave no man behind”.

What benefits are you seeing from being in Google+?

Clean interface, great sharing capabilities and complete control over privacy. Looking forward to saying goodbye to Facebook forever.

In my role as a Global Commercial Analyst at Thomson Reuters, I work with our Multimedia Solutions group to help clients communicate better online. Webcasting, online video and social media are vital parts of my work life – but social networking has an even bigger role to play in my “after work” life as I promote my band, The Nancy Boys.

A particularly interesting story or thoughts you may want to add regarding Google+

As a musician I’m excited at the prospect that G+ could be the first social networking site since Myspace to figure out music sharing and fan interaction…waiting to see what happens next!

How did you originally get invited to Google+?

A colleague invited me.

What benefits are you seeing from being in Google+?

It’s great for a fast exchanging of news and sort these into different categories. So quite similar to twitter lists though here the communication around those topics is the interesting part of it. The categories and the circled sharing functions are important to me because I’m not only here as a digital strategist, but also as a musician – so two very different topics. Of course the private aspect to share some posts only with close friends is important.

How does Google+ fit into your life or career?

I’m working as a digital strategist / planner and on Google+ are a lot of digitally savvy people which means it is a great source for all kinds of news in the sphere of new digital possibilities.

A particularly interesting story or thoughts you may want to add regarding Google+

Just launched the new website of my band and I was surprised how many clicks we got from Google+.

How did you originally get invited to Google+?

I signed up for beta access quite early on. Fortunate enough to get an invite early. I always try to get myself updated with the latest Google services.

What benefits are you seeing from being in Google+?

Within 2 weeks of its debut, Google+ has already sparked user conversations that are more substantial than those on Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr.

And these Google+ conversations are not only within its ordinary users–you do get so much more opportunity to network and converse with people who are experts in various fields. Celebrities have already tapped into the highly successful Hangouts feature of G+. Photographers and artists are starting to get a wider audience just by sharing their artworks in G+.

The opportunity to reach out to people seems to have amplified without sacrificing substance here in Google+. Even at this early stage of G+ development, I’m already looking forward to conversing with people in G+ rather than on Facebook and Twitter :)

How does Google+ fit into your life or career?

I’m currently an international student taking up Music Production & Engineering here in Boston, MA. Google+ fits into my life and career path seamlessly. Filipinos are known to be very much attuned to social networking and my friends and relatives from back home were quick to jump in on the Google+ bandwagon. Conversations with friends and relatives have been more in-depth and satisfying within the Google+ interface.

As a budding sound engineer, I’m very much passionate about pursuing this career path and I’ve since begun using Google+ as a means to share my everyday experiences as a sound engineering student here in Berklee College of Music. It’s also offered me a more effective medium for communicating with fellow audiophiles and sound engineers who share the same passion as I have with music and audio. Aside from networking, I also end up using Google+ as another means for me to learn more about audio engineering by simply conversing to fellow audio engineers and musicians.

A particularly interesting story or thoughts you may want to add regarding Google+

During my 2nd day in Google+, I was able to join a Hangout conversation with Mr. Vic Gundotra (Google, VP Engineering). Who knew there’s such a thing as being starstruck in a video conference. It definitely was a sign of greater things to come for Google+.
